What Will
The Home Inspection Report
Tell You?

No home is perfect. Some problems may be found, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy the house. A home inspection will list problems that may or may not be major. A home inspection is not a guarantee that problems won't develop after you move in, but it may show you how to prevent them.

If you move in and find a problem that you believe the inspection or previous owner should have revealed or disclosed, the first step is to call the inspector and clarify the situation. If necessary, you might wish to consult a local mediation service to help you settle your disagreement with the previous homeowner or inspector. Though many professional home inspectors today carry Error and Omissions Liability Insurance, litigation should be considered a last resort.
